Duties

Full-time science instructor. MHS offers a well-rounded science curriculum.  The current teaching assignment includes Biology I, Chemistry, and Chemistry Honors.  The MHS curriculum also includes the following courses:  Anatomy and Physiology, Biology II, Honors Biology I, Physics, Earth Science, and S.T.E.M. outreach.

Additional Notes

MHS instructors teach 5 of 7 periods with two duty-free preps for 94 minutes of daily prep.  MHS also requires all teachers are assigned to a 30-minute Period 8 intervention for a structured study hall or time to work with struggling students or honor requests for additional help. MHS is in a new building with current laboratory equipment and resources. MHS students are 1:1 with Chromebooks.

Dates are June 4th to June 28th. The stipend is $1882 per session (It is possible to teach a morning and afternoon session for $1882 per session). MHS utilizes the Edmentum online curriculum for credit retrieval classes.  You do not need to be endorsed in the content area to teach the remedial summer school because the software is set up that it can grant the credit.  Please consider if you are interested in Science and English.  
MHS is also hiring a teacher to monitor a summer Bridges Program for incoming freshman.  Sylvan Learning Center staff will be teaching the Math ACE IT! program to these students.  MHS needs a teacher to be the contact with the students from the school and incorporate some study skills and high school transitional topics. A grade is not issued. The dates for the BRIDGES Program are W., July 31st through T., August 13th (AM with exact 3 hours to be determined) Stipend is prorated from $1882 to reflect the shorter summer school session.

Coaching opportunities are available but not limited to the following: Head Boys Basketball Coach,  Assistant Football Coach, Assistant Volleyball Coach, Assistant Boys Track, and Cheerleading sponsors. *Paraprofessional:

Mendota High School is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Paraprofessional for the 2019-2020 school year. Preferably, applicants would have strong background knowledge in both Geometry and Algebra I. The position would entail of workday of 6.5 hours, five days per week.

*Tutor:

Mendota High School is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Math Tutor one day a week on Wednesdays from 8:05 until 3:05 for the 2019-2020 school year. Preferably, applicants would have strong background knowledge in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Applicants with advanced mathematical knowledge will be strongly considered.
