Mission Statement

“The learning environment of MTHS offers educational opportunities for the individual to develop a personally satisfying life, to function as an intelligent and responsible member of our society, and to achieve what is necessary to become a productive citizen.”

Welcome to Mendota Township High School, home of the Trojans, and the 2005-2006 academic year.  Traditionally, MHS has always provided students with a diverse curriculum committed to superior academic excellence.  It is our sincere hope and intention to continue this tradition by providing a supportive, safe learning environment that will continue to foster and produce well-rounded, educationally sound young men and women ready to successfully travel whatever road they choose once they leave our doors.  Most importantly, their experience at Mendota High School should be memorable and mentioned with pride.

MHS serves a population of approximately 600 students.  Our students are what make MHS stand out.  Mendota High School has a full time superintendent, principal, assistant principal, social worker, two guidance counselors, nurse, and employs approximately 75 teachers and staff members.  In January of 2003, Mendota High School moved into a new $24 million facility.

Our varied curriculum includes College Prep (including some courses offered by Illinois Valley Community College), General Academic, Vocational (including some courses taught at the Area Vocational Center at La Salle-Peru High School), comprehensive Special Education program, and COE job training program.

Mendota High School is known for its competitive extra-curricular programs.  MHS is a member of the North Central Illinois Conference (NCIC).  There are several opportunities for students to get involved and challenge themselves to reach their full potential and beyond.  Our programs have won numerous regional tournaments, sectional tournaments, and qualified individuals and teams to the state finals.
